The PPR is present in AIP for almost 10 years.
Now because of safety and expected traffic rise with the new Schengen area rules,

Interesting. Maybe I did ask for PPR and I have forgotten about it now. In any case no one complained when I paid the fees!
I still don’t see why it is necessary. There is an unfortunate tendency of airport operators to have PPR just because. Oh, well…
Anyway, Hvar was nice place and I wouldn’t mind coming back some day.
Trust me,
it is much better for all, that we do the check before your landing on the whole runway for FOD and STONES,
Than it is also useful to push away on time:
all walkers,
kids.
free running dogs,
bicycles,
quads,
off road vehicles,
local sheep-s,
donkey-s
and few other domestic animals :D
Regarding the fees. that is far, far bellow the real expenses
to run this place on acceptable minimum of safety.
