That is actually quite serious It is one of the reasons the original EGNOS EU project, which it was claimed would create 100,000 jobs and €x billion (they really had all this on a website – I so wish I had made a screenshot) abandoned the idea of selling decryption keys for the signal which was to be used for aviation It remains a real issue in avionics.
Next step would be “engine lease period is over. Stand by for shutdown in 3 – 2 – 1…”
