EGHA Compton Abbas this evening – the armstrong starter was a bit recalcitrant this evening, had to wait an hour for the air to cool and the engine decided to wake up. When handpropping advancing the throttle to take account for the warm engine is a tricky business. Flight back in the evening was silky smooth.

Manchester Barton yesterday, looking more like a desert airfield than an airfield near the wettest city in the UK…
Nice day out at the Museum of Science and Industry, with 6 buses an hour from just outside the airfield to Manchester, very easy to get into the centre of Manchester. Had a really nice brunch in the city centre, too, at a place called The Alchemist near the law courts.
