No, it’s one of the lakes (North Lake) in the ‘lake district’ west of Bishop. This is a series of mountain valleys about a 30 min drive into the Sierra. Absolutely stunning landscapes! Mono Lake is about 70-80 miles north of Bishop. I flew close to it on the way back to L.A. crossing the Sierras. Had my hands full during that part of the trip and didn’t take pics. If my pax took some (not sure), I’ll post them here.
This is Mono Lake (last year)
There was a program on the TV on Mono Lake the other day. It has enough arsenic to kill almost any known life form, but there are some bacteria in there which are thought to have evolved independently of life elsewhere on earth.

Over the Austrian Alps yesterday. Lovely VFR conditions mostly, but the typical northern murk north of the Alps.
I like the black sky in the first two pictures. Makes one thing you were flying much higher. Maybe you were?
FL370 or so?
