Just a few pics from a day trip yesterday.
Isle of Wight, with a bit of snow left on it
The NW bit of France
Alderney
Approaching the localiser at EGBJ rwy 27
On the ILS. I always fly the ILS to make sure the whole system is worthing 100% – all receivers and all indicators
A friend in a Jetprop. Always super service and excellent parking at ASG.
EuroGA leaflets – always do this bit
The harbour
Fish soup
Amazing scenery on the flight back – this is typical winter flying conditions, FL070
Very nice. Thanks for the pictures!
And, yeah, I know ;)
Nice, someone got a radar lock !!
Yeah, no way I can hide
Guernsey in particular clearly has enthusiastic local FR24 detectors. Almost all the way to the surface, rwy 27
I have very good memories from our mini fly-in in Guernesey in August. Hope to go back and spend more time visiting the island.
One needs a lot of luck and time flexibility to travel in light GA in winter.
Yes; you have to grab the day and go for it. This is today
On these ad hoc fly-ins it tends to be a small group of regulars, but it’s true in the summer too, probably because peoples’ lives get dominated by other stuff. Most people have their lives booked up for maybe 6 months ahead.
Unfortunately, I am booked Monday to Friday for the next 40 years or so

You don’t have to own a buisness, just take a weekday off from work and go flying ;)?
Ps: better have a crystal ball for the weather and don’t brag about it with your boss next day !
