Yes; I too didn’t think that accident report was a clear supporting case for corrosion inspection.

The BEA has a world class reputation for less than stellar quality crash reports, and not just in GA

I built a very similar contraption; mine has two BMP280 sensors, linked to a RPi; one is measuring temp/rh outside, the other at the top (exit) end of the silica tube; I used kitty litter for the drying agent and it seems to last about three weeks till it gets to ~40% RH. I guess I could do what N9L does, ie add a timer and have it run 6h then stop 6h, ad infinitum and extend the time. Looking outside the window, and at the weather forecast, it might be the smart thing to do…
