Im not sure why he didnt use the R Hess method of entree. Parachute them in. This way he would not have to pay a landing fee, Handling fee, security fee, parking fee, Disinfection fee, Lavoratory fee, Approach fee. Did I miss any other fee?

Joking aside – why should sentencing after a guilty plea take much longer?
It would be the same here. Guilty plea, same day report, into the back of a van and start the sentence.
Pre-CPS, a Not Guilty plea would get the case adjourned to another date, giving the police an opportunity to present a “different” prosecution case

In this case I wonder whether a faster process might be used on foreigners, because you don’t really want to detain them for extended periods, and if you let them go home, on bail or whatever, they aren’t going to come back to France for the court case. I don’t think this is an extraditable offence.

I wonder why people think that this isn’t the norm? What would you be waiting for? You know the charges and the facts, you have a pre-sentence report, what would be the point in delay?
