Hello people,
I have recently been looking for a DA42 for an IFR trip from England to Germany in the week of 18 to 23rd of April, but none are available unfortunately, they are all either tech or not available for solo hire.
I am now looking for ANY capable aircraft: Piper Arrow, Archer, Cessna 172/182, anything with a G1000 or with standard instruments, preferably something with an Autopilot but I can do without it. It must be a G-reg.
I am a UK CPL/ME-IR, very current in both SEPs and MEPs, and willing to pay almost any price to make this happen. I am willing to do a check flight if required of course. If anyone knows someone who could rent me an aircraft for such a trip please let me know either in this thread or via PM.
Thank you for your help!
You can check with Dan at BlackBushes, he has a nice “IFR fleet” and may arrange a one-off instead of membership?
I sent you two others by PM
There’s a DA40NG (G-SBSB) for hire at Redhill, contact http://cubair.co.uk
Try LS at Oxford: https://www.limasierra.org/g-hryz.html
Tried SueAir?

Yes, I tried. Their DA42 are in maintenance.

They don’t answer the phone since yesterday unfortunately.

They don’t rent for international flights, UK flights only.

They require 5 hours on type due to insurance unfortunately. DA42 hours don’t count.
I asked Redhill Aviation (Piper Arrow) and PFT Oxford (Piper Cherokee 6). Awaiting replies.
It’d be interesting to hear about the covid logistics required for such a trip at the moment. Presumably you’ll need to do a test before leaving the UK and then before returning to the UK? What about quarantine at either end?

That’s correct, but not an issue (i.e., I’m willing to do all that)
