What is the plan for Belgium, when the SF260 will retire ?
Diamond 550 Dart or PC21. Either way it’ll be turboprops.
Both TBs and Bonanzas were operated in transport & observation roles, no primary.
Norway has MFI-15 (Saab Safari). Before that there was Saab 91b (Saab Safir). Both SEPs for initial training and screening.
Due to cost saving measures Austria elected DA40NG to replace the gas guzzling jets ;)
Looks more like the national pride, but yes coast saving as they did not get them DA62s

Not sure if Israel is “Europe” (well, they are in the Eurovision song contest ) but they operated TB20s for many years and then switched to Beech Bonanzas.
I once saw a Piper Cub being refurbished and was told it had been used by the IAF. IIRC the wings had been modified to launch rockets.
Referring to the Marchetti thread, the CAP10 used for screening by French Navy have been modified with a throttle and mixture on the very left side :

I guess Cap10 & Extra are few pistons where you can use throttle to set the speed and stick to set the pitch
So they deserve to have the throttle on the left like military jets
In the Safir (Saab 91b), the PIC seat is on the right originally. Then you have throttle, mixture, prop on the left side. You can however also sit on the left side. There is an additional throttle lever on the left wall. Sitting on the left side you have two throttle levers
