Sorry if these may seem obvious questions…
1. What does O/R mean, under Customs / immigration?
( on request??)
2. What does HJ / HN mean? In section 9 Police / customs.
on request ?
O/R – on request
O/R is indeed On Request
HJ = During daylight hours … from the French, Heures Jour
HN = During hours of Darkness … from the French, Heures Nuit
You may also see H24… i.e. 24 hours per day
HJ = day
HN = night
As the others wrote O/R is on request. In theory this is different from PPR because with O/R they can not turn down your request while they can with PPR.

Since the question was about the French AIP, I can add that HJ is an ICAO abbreviation and not a French speciality.
Sure, but ICAO likes to use French abbreviations. Thinking of BR (brume) for example.
I can’t help suspecting it is rather the French that like ICAO to use as much French as they can ever manage to get in…
Maybe it is because ICAO is based in Montreal which is francophone?

Or MIFG, a mix of French and English.
