@Emir: there are some forums where a “policy” like you describe is recommended, or even necessary. I always hoped and trusted this forum to be at a higher level. Language and other cultural factors may have their role, indeed; where I live and converse, it is not impolite to state some inititative has no particular interest for me personally, it is rather a sign of modesty that my interests are not really relevant. And indeed, in my education the most negative thing one can do is to say nothing at all (try to find a good translation for Dutch “doodzwijgen”… Not Google translate!) . Which would be far too negative for Michals map.
