Hi Peter, I’m planning to head to Dresden Saturday 23 May late afternoon with my GF, and spend two nights in the city. Leaving on Monday at the end of the day.
OK let me work on that
We are talking about the main airport? You know I need at least 2km
Yes, that’s a good airport for GA… not expensive, great service, subayway station in-house!
2km? Are you bragging with your STOL capabilities?
EDDC is my planned destination for 23.5. – 25.5. anyway, ETA is supposed to be at 12:00 UTC.
So maybe I find a chance to say hello to the one or the other? I have 3 people with me, so not that many time for ‘Avgas-talk’ this time, more a touristic weekend, however, would be great to shake hands I guess.
Wolfi, its a touristic weekend out for us as well. I’ve never been in Dresden and it looks like a nice destination to spend the weekend?! Musea, restaurants, shopping, the usual stuff that girls like ;-)
If there are more pilots in the area we could meet up somewhere for a drink/lunch/dinner?

Dresden is a nice place to spend a weekend. Lots of stuff for the ladies, very pleasant to walk and inexpensive when we were there (mid September 2011). We didn’t find it busy at all but maybe that was the time of the year.

One word of caution: This coming weekend is Pentecost. Monday is a holiday in Germany, which means most shops will be closed and most probably no museum either.
Hmmm… no fashion shopping and no Zeppelin museum…. I will have to cancel
Can you find a Messerschmitt museum?
Is there any food in Dresden? I mean food, not sausages?
