How much they asked for it? there are not that many options around the place
We are having a fly-in soon where a Spanish GA-pilot who is high up the ranks of the org representing GA in Spain is supposed to join. I’ll chat with him on this topic. If anyone knows about any other airports where there are issues with this basic service, post it here please.
OMG, here I am being sucked into AENA stuff again Feels like Don Quijote fighting windmills.
United handling at Bilbao is not cheap. Payed €360 for 3 days parking. Don’t think you will get away with no handling, as you get parked at the old terminal and will need transport to new terminal.
Why not go to San Senbastian. Cheaper and much more rewarding?
I like San S. handling was 100 euros, so the total for IR app and one night parking and handling was 140 odd plus nice approach over the bay plus great food.
Send an e-mail to Iberia and once you are in Bilbao call them to ask for pick-up. They can’t say No. They must provide the service. If not, call ARO office and they will talk each other. Once the Iberia agent arrives, don’t let him put the chocks or anything, just ask for “escort service to the terminal”. And tell them the fare is about 9€/trip.

You shouldn’t have to worry in any AENA airport in Spain.
Spoke to Groundforce.
Good Afternoon,
To enter Bilbao airport from the UK, a health check is still required.
As it is a private flight, it is the duty of the handling agent to carry out said control. We are very sorry, but our staff cannot do it.
What a load of crap. Apparently AENA have choose to keep it in till 30th October. Is this why Iberia won’t do it?
https://spth.gob.es/ Says otherwise.
Will this still work? See above post on what other’s are telling me (GroundForce).
I really don’t want to pixx my passenger off with faff after a 5 hour flight of waiting lol.

Typical, sadly…
Last year I landed at San Sebastian from Denham and, having pointed out to the Iberia office that €9 was the maximum handling charge, that is what was charged. Landing, one night’s parking, VAT etc took the total to a very reasonable €38.
