LRSV Suceava any pireps?

Just a general inquiry as this place has come up in a discussion for a possible VFR trip in 2021 or 22.

Has anyone been there, have information about it? Is that place actually feasible in terms of customs, Avgas and are there any handling hurdles? I see in the AIP that they have H24 customs but no Avgas, but maybe there is an aeroclub which does?

Any Pireps would be appreciated.

Hello MD,
LRSV is a very simple airport, minimal handling, customs available, friendly people. The airport has no AVGAS to sell but there is Bucovina Flying Club hangar&apron nearby, they can arrange the fuel.
The transportation to the city can be a problem if no airlines are flying but this can also be arranged.
If you can take grass strip there is one of 1000 meters 30km NE of LRSV, Fratauti near Radauti city. Probably it is the best and well equipped private airfield in the country, IMO more suitable for a longer term stay to visit Bucovina.

Thanks @byteworks

sounds great really. What we need is parking, rental car and fuel if possible, otherwise we have to take fuel elsewhere on the way. It can’t be done non stop anyway by the looks of it.

You mean they are at the airport? Or they can arrange fuel at the airport? That would be great.

Found Fratauli on the map, it sais around 600 m grass, which would most probably be ok. I have to check what the final destination really is, someone building pipe organs somewhere in the vicinity. Could also be that Satu Mare is closer, but as I saw they have no avgas either, or is there a possibility to get some there via some aeroclub?

BFC is located at the airport, 100 meters N of the airport building and has its own taxi way to the A taxi way.
Fratauti runway is good grass, 840 meters measured on Ggl with some margins to the south, runway lights and PAPI.
Both locations operate a large variety of aircrafts from ultralights to PA-46, “arranging” the fuel means to be sure the quantity you need is available at the moment.

Wow, ok, that sounds great. Will have to find out the necessary contacts when this becomes more serious, but it looks like a good destination then.
