Is there any info on when Salerno is going to be open?
AFAIK, it is supposed to reopen in 2024. But that could mean it will be even later. With Italy, nobody ever knows for sure. And this is southern Italy…
Also, keep in mind it is supposed to re-open as a full-fledged airline airport. It will thus likely be rather terrible for GA, and likely, they will have the usual problem in summer, when all the five GA parking positions will always be booked by some jetset people (or kept free for certain entities), so PPR will not be forthcoming, even if you are willing to pay the >500 Euros.
What’s the current recommendation for flying to Naples (1900kg DA42)? Would like to spend a few days there, so sounds like LIRN is not an option.
Unless you can get around the massive parking restrictions at LIRN, or unless you can arrange permission for Capua, there is no solution. Land at Urbe and then take a long train ride.
I don’t see in the NOTAM anymore any GA parking restriction? Is this still correct?
