That was a wonderful trip which I often think about when sitting in lockdown
I plan to do another mountain trip as soon as conditions allow, and will try to take in a few other mountains on it. I was going to ask for suggestions of which ones, but last time I posted a Q on some names on a previous flight, nobody responded
Thanks for posting all this, it’s very helpful, hope to have a go at flying to Aosta (IR O2 C172 diesel) the first weekend of April to visit some glider flying friends there.
That’s interesting. One of the glider people there was going to take me for a flight along the Alps – and I even bought a small O2 cylinder for it – but then he got busy and it never happened. It would have been a spectacular flight.
Aosta is a really nice airport. Very friendly.
I used to fly gliders there myself early spring, but that was some 20 years ago. The fence along the perimeter of the airport makes a distinct howling sound when there are mountain waves. Good times!
