PPL/IR

EuroGA, AOPA, and PPL/IR fill separate parts of the flying spectrum – although at times they overlap.
Each is required in the rapidly changing world of EASA where knowledge and shared information needs to be disseminated for the good of the flying community as a whole.
EuropaGA is good at sharing information on a wide range of issues (without the ‘slagging off’ that affects other forums – Long may this continue!).
.AOPA fights our corner for GA in general (but can only ‘represent’ IR flying in proportion to its overall interests & commitments).
PPL/IR had done wonders – especially in the last couple of years – of ensuring that Private IR pilots (and we are relatively few, sadly, at the moment) get a good and fair hearing.
I would hope for the benefit of GA flying in the future, people would feel able to support all three: I do, and will continue to do so. [The subs are minuscule compared with the overall cost of flying and are worth every penny.]

Anybody interest in RHS Piper Arrow (11th), 12, 13, 14, 15 for PPL/IR social.

Just bring this ‘to the top’.
Understand no ‘takers’ ATPIT (At The Point In Time)
Seems it would have to be a UK resident living near EGCF in the first place – so little chance.

Are many people on here members? I’m wondering about joining but I’m already paying for LAA, AOPA and other professional subscriptions and could really do without another £75 a year. Is it worth it do folks reckon? Thanks

Now retired from forums best wishes

I joined to support their lobbying action in favour ad GA and PPL. Also for the quality of their forum, the social activities, IP and other publications.

On the other hand I am not a member of AOPA or any other organisation.

LFPT, LFPN

I’m a member as well. The reason is that I thought there is some good lobbying being done and a few very competent and active specialists under the umbrella of PPL/IR.

It is extremely UK centric though. It could benefit a lot from having a more pan-European view without a strong focus on the UK peculiarities of aviation but that is a chicken and egg issue.

Ideally the charter of PPL/IR should be covered by the AOPAs and bundled in a strong European AOPA but that’s not the case.

I canceled my subscription with PPLIR when i found EuroGA. PPLIR have a really good forum and nice magazine, and think they are doing a really god job lobbying for GA. But i had to prioritize where to spend my money so i did it on AOPA.. and ..Jeppesen and SkyDemon and RocketRoute and…

Why RocketRoute? AutoRouter is super…

@DMEArc, only RR Std member although i have to pay 81 Euro incl tax. Had to renew it in July when i managed to crash AutoRouter, and no time to fix the problem (Some issues with my airplane profile etc)… Hopefully i’ll cancel RR next year. Still like the RR GUI and the tracking functionality.

How is it different from the autorouter tracking functionality?
