Scary story…
Hopefully it’s not one of the companies that act according to the working principles " Paint it black – send it back "
Have used Norvik three times, and very happy with the result.
Have not needed to make a warranty claim, but they have always been well disposed to come out and fix issues – even minor.
Yes, it was a scary story but the scare was not the shop as all parts were new parts, that is other than the crankshaft and the crankcase, the shop thought that the camshaft had a bad heat treatment or that one of the cyl. Was defective. The cyl. Are ECI that now are effected by an AD.
Unfortunately it seems possible to build an engine from all new parts and it still breaks very soon afterwards.
I don’t know how you might achieve it, but plenty of engine builders have managed it…
Over-torquing the cylinder bolts can cause some very interesting results (a cylinder comes right off, smashing itself up rapidly as the piston inside it is driven up and down by the crankshaft) and nobody will be able to prove the reason.
That’s why the shop and the person doing the job is ever so important.
“That’s why the shop and the person doing the job is ever so important.”
That is the reason for saying that a shop that stand behind the product is very important, we all are allowed to make mistake from time to time, the point is how we deal with it. W don’t know if it was their fault or not but they did not run for cover.
