hi people looking through the interconnect drawings in the gtx 33 manual it shows a standard / blind/ encoding altimeter and a solid-state altitude digitiser which has a rs232 connections does it need to have both or just either one of them i want to use the transponder for mode a /c and mode s regards steve
Use rs232 only. Normally if you connect it to gtn650 altitude will be passed by remote control protocol.
Just one of the two will suffice, but RS232 gives you a better precision (10 ft as opposed to 100 ft for the old Gilham code parallel interface). The use of old interface for new installations is not recommended.
