For the upcoming weekend (easter holidays…) the chances are good for another high pressure area over scandinavia. So if you want to visit Elgå, this could be your chance for this year!
Wow!
Unfortunately Sweden is covered in the worst blizzard in many many years…
Weather will be very nice until friday. This morning we have -25 degrees and no wind.
Wonderful pics!
Wonderful photos – just added from CW.
In fact, there are several of these Ice runways in Norway and Sweden. Some just for a single event, others for the winter season.
Nice excuse to make a trip in wintertime and meet other aviation enthusiasts.
Forecasts look quite good for Norway in the next week.
It doesn’t have to be authorised….
Except, of course, on the Lac Noir in regulation-hungry Switzerland.
There’s even a video of last year’s event in which some spoil-sport says not to use brakes, for fear of experiencing the harmless pleasure of putting a tail-dragger sideways on an ice-covered runway.
As in most branches of aviation, the Americans know how to have fun on frozen lakes.

Now we know there is one.
For anyone unfamiliar (like me), here is a rough map
I hope you will have a lot of visits, GA seems pretty active in Norway.
