Didn’t know how lucky I was. We have 1000 phones with Vodafone in Germany, so looks like a corporate deal then.
But the roaming is much cheaper, too (and I’m pretty sure this is standard pricing). Within Germany I’m not paying anything for data (apart from the monthly base fee). When roaming in Europe, I buy day passes for 2 EUR/25 MB/24 h or week passes 5 EUR/50 MB/7 days.

I think you are wrong there Peter – other than South Africa I cannot think of any cases where they skipped a year. You must be dealing with some very shoddy pilot shops if they are selling outdated charts. Certainly no excuse with Jepp VFR charts as all dealers can return unsold stock when the new charts were published for a 100% credit. I wish they did that with enroute charts as well.
