Form the report of lecho I understand that one plane was instructed to line up and wait but just started his take-off. The other plane landing on an intersecting runway was instructed to go-around.

I personally find the articles a bit overblown. Although on my scale and not on “big” airports, I have been at the origin and had to do some go-arounds as well… nothing that exceptional.

The first 2 articles are overblown because they mostly bring to attention the view of an association against airport noise south of the airport, who obviously don’t appreciate the use of runway 01 altogether.
The 3rd one is actually instructive. Pilot 07R was instructed to line-up and wait, lines up and starts instead. Pilot on short final for 01 at 250ft AGL was instructed to go around.

It was a dangerous situation, which will lead to a normal investigation process. Not sure it happens infrequently though, we just don’t hear about every single one of them, but the associations are good at making noise (which they are fighting, ironically).
