I really wonder how they manage with all the ancillary stuff like the lean while taxiing, constant EGT vs max EGT lean during climb, lean or rich of peak cruise and all those basic pleasures of flying.

It has Austro diesel engines. FADEC controlled so no need to lean…

With Lycomings they would still be working on how to perform an unmanned engine start

The engine control problems with UAVs and piston engines were solved (and the solutions widely implemented) circa 1988 and I happen to know the guy who did it pretty well, with automatic control and altitudes up into airliner territory.
