It sounds very close to what happened at my English language proficiency test two years ago.

I have just passed it and that certificate made me very happy
It Is a test of english for aviation for non-native, and in Italy they see it like a big deal
Now I just need to fly outside Italy
TEA is merely the term used in Italy for what, in most other places, is simply called the language proficiency test (English).
“ICAO english” is used sometimes…
“ICAO Englisch” would be funny. But I’ll have “sugars” in my tea, thank you very much.
I’m just a sourpuss because I only got IFR LP level 5 and will need to do it over again at some point…
ICAO (International Civil aviation Organization) requires all airline pilots ( all counties) who fly internationally to have a minimum level of English.
This level of English is known as ICAO Operational Level 4.
ICAO has developed a rating scale with Level 4 considered the minimum acceptable level (“Operational level”)
