Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) Autofuel STC in Europe?

1 Post

Hello,

I am looking to get a mogas STC for my Norwegian registered PA-18 with an O-320-A2B engine. The Petersen STC, validated for EASA aircraft, is 535 EUR plus VAT. What is worse, when I change the airplane to the N register sometime in the next year, they will charge me 267.50 EUR to move the STC to the new registration.

EAA sells a mogas STC for N registered aircraft for $225 for the same airplane/engine combo. Has anyone noticed where EAA’s FAA STC is valid in EASAland? I’d rather just buy it from them as they are also quick. The Petersen STC takes a month to process, and I will be shortly in a location without avgas….

I have heard that “Norway accepts FAA STCs” but a Norwegian shop merely told me to look for pre-2003 EASA national grandfathered approvals and didn’t mention this blanket acceptance illusion…..
