If I follow these guidelines, Auch LFDH was known to have a very good airport restaurant (very good for SW France means exceptional), but according to the local news it is being refurbished now.
If you want a village reachable by foot from the airfield, I would say LFDA, LFCN or LFCD. LFCX and LFCW are a bit further.
If you want to make a YT video, LFBZ and its beaches are a must. It is kind of a Riviera.
The airport is not the friendliest around but doable.
I checked with LFBZ a few months ago and I think it was 50 euros. But best to check again to be sure.
There are buses from the airport to Biarritz and to Bayonne (which imo is a lot more interesting than Biarritz, unless you’re looking for beach or casinos).
Depending on why you want to go there, there’s also Pau, Tarbes and Arcachon. Not sure about the transport though.

Sorry for ignoring the obvious, Peter. Feel free to delete my link
Reports for LFMT on the EuroGA airport database which is what everyone should be contributing to, because it is actively maintained by our community.
Thread for same area of France
LFBZ report showing quite low charges, which is interesting. I’ve heard of up to €200 in recent years.
Montpellier LFMT? Good recommendations from German pilots https://eddh.de/info/lande_pireps.php?pi_icao=LFMT
Not quite as south west as Biarritz however
Hi,
I plan to do a day flight (just for lunch) to South West of France from Madrid… I have considered Biarritz (LFBZ) but it’s a bit of a Hassle (as usually full), maybe a bit expensive and requiring taxi to go downtown.
Any alternative (handling free and as close to a nice city/village for lunch as possible… of course, if lunch at the airfield in a nice place, even better)
Thanks for any suggestions.
