Yes, the Gimli Glider – a long Canadian Military Runway. Some years ago that 767 went to the desert where it was scrapped… i own a piece of aluminum from its hull (sold as keychains by a company from L.A.)
Regarding the gimli glider IIRC it involved side (or more correct forward) slipping the 767 because he was a bit hot on final. Pretty cool.. :)
