What have you done with, or on your aircraft, this weekend? (11-12 May 2024)

For reference :

The unmistakeable aircraft drawings are somewhat or a staple for the channel.

Ain’t my turf, but I think knowing the location where this shot was taken 🤓

Though I usually think that a wing distracts from the real subject, this shot is one of the best I’ve seen containing… a wing. Beautiful aircraft/paintjob/wing reflections/settings/horizon 😎

We had a nice Socata fly-in to EDXB this weekend, with great turnout. I think there were 12 or so aircraft, and Daher even sent us some nice swag! The Friday arrival was chilly and cloudy, but the rest of the weekend was beautiful.

Nice dinner with the crew:

Charming old mill hotel:

I’ve been busy so missed out on a few days of good wx but managed to do a nice trip within the UK.

Next one should be Croatia – LDLO

Took my family up for a flight on Sunday. This was my 4 yo son’s 3rd flight, therefore I didn’t want to go too far. Not sure he enjoyed the 2 flights he did in summer 2023. We went to Würzburg, about 20-30 mins flight time from EDQN, and ate a pizza there. My son really enjoyed himself this time and even fell asleep on the way back. I now feel confident to bring him to longer trips.

In a recent thread we had a discussion about “how fast is fast enough for travel?”. I tried low and slow cruise for a change, which I never really did in that airplane outside of downwind legs: 2000rpm, 500-1000 ft AGL. I got 90-ish KIAS at 20 liter/hour. It was very relaxing :) I love my bird every day a bit more.
