Unknown light airplane crashes near Beteta, Spain

Hi all,

Just posting this to see if anyone has more information on this accident that happened yesterday (30 Dec 2023) at night near the small town of Beteta, provice of Cuenca, Spain; leaving one dead pilot and an injured passenger (both apparently Italian nationals).
I’d like to know the aircraft make/model and registration.

Here’s a Spanish news article with not much information: https://cadenaser.com/castillalamancha/2023/12/31/un-hombre-de-50-anos-fallece-en-un-accidente-de-avioneta-en-beteta-cuenca-ser-cuenca/

Looking at the blue livery/letters I think it is a Tarragon. Engine a Rotax 915.

Private field, Mallorca, Spain

Thanks! Yes this seems very plausible!

The crash happened at night. Might be interesting to know where they departe from and where they were headed. And why anyone would fly an ultralight, presumably at low altitude and outside controlled airspace, at night.

A Tarragon at Night???

Germany

Why not? The aircraft didn’t know, that it was dark.

For instance in Poland Microlights are approved for N-VFR. They even carry a BRS like a Cirrus.
