I agree – if something bad is happening in my aircraft, it’s m’aidez for me.
One example used in Swiss PPL training on when to use panne-panne-panne is if you see a fire on the ground, or something that is important enough to notify ATC but is not putting you personally or your aircraft at immediate risk.
