Yes, that too! Forgot about it. Used it in France to get IFR clearance on the ground after ATC hours. Can’t do it before starting engine because it is valid for three minutes only, so I called from the runway entry holding point.

That is not normal. The audio source for the call is supposed to be the headset microphone, the same as for your radio calls, after all, and I hope/assume that your radio calls are not “hear only engine noise”. My guess would be the internal microphone of the phone was being used rather than your headset.

I have Zulu headsets with BT but if you have a 3.5 mm jack socket in your audio panel, this sort of dongle should allow simultaneous connection to phone and tablet – for about 20 EUR.
