Yesterday afternoon, a Risen has crashed (just after takeoff) in Germany, killing the sole pilot on board… Link
How terribly sad
Hey! Look at the last video I received. I’m sorry for the low quality but was sent with WhatsApp.
Almost 200ktas at 26L/h.
One more look at the Risen… not that there are many to be seen around, but a pretty cool airplane methinks
This one flew Ireland to Canada today in one flight: 1900nm non-stop, VFR flight at 5000ft using 50USG with 165kts average speed
It’s flying to Oshkosh next day (2 days to fly Florence to Chicago)
Impressive!
Now, could someone explain to me how they did that?
1817 NM in 9h:05 gives over 200KTS
If I understand correctly, they burned 218l which means 24l/h
Tailwinds?

Of course 😁
Not sure what the winds aloft were at the time they did that flight, but this is right now, at 15z on the 15th…
Impressive is not the flight in itself, but the Risen’s perf, amazing 🤩
Is the ground speed in the snapshot not 260 kilometres an hour about 140kts?

Yes they had about +20kts on their back, now on their way to Oshkosh to make it today before sunset. They went via Stornoway instead of Ireland (originally planned) on “coup de cœur”:
They are on hurry
Awesome airplane, I want one!
