So can’t really do much by way of photos as I was in or above cloud most of the way. Nice trip to Oxford to Caen yesterday and back this morning. That airport has to be the best value I have ever had in Europe. €4.80 landing and overnight stay. Bayeux is a pleasant town to see and visit the Tapestry exhibit.
Other than it being a bit windy for the landing on the way back a nice overnight stop that I have never done before. CAr rental at the airport (but be careful with their opening times as they are only there for the CAT flights).
Agree, Bayeux is nice (Caen is not). And yes, the tapestry is a really interesting piece of culture.
This Caen airport looks like a very good place to meet up – has ILS, has a restaurant with some positive comment, has MoGas, has customs. Inexpensive, too, indeed. Too far away for me for a day return, but perfect for a weekend, if the meteo is promising enough.
