The Socata TB typeclub (or rather one or more volunteers from its ranks) organises annual FlyIns for Socata-pilots and owners in Europe, Australia and the East and West-coast of the US.
Location and dates for the European FlyIn 2014: The FlyIn will take place in Schwaebisch-Hall (airfield EDTY), Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany from Thursday, 29 May 2014 (first arrivals from noon) till Sunday, 01 June 2014 (official end of Fly-In after breakfast and transfer to airfield)
The old town of Schwaebisch-Hall (Hall for short) is arguably amongst the prettiest in Southern Germany and very picturesque, it surrounds the central market place and cathedral.
Airfield: Hall / EDTY is an IFR-equipped field with two GPS-approaches and one ILS-approach. The hard paved runway is 1.500m long. Not to be confused with Schwaebisch-Hall Weckrieden / EDTX which is the VFR-field right next to the airport with a 550m grass strip. EDTY is about 3km from the town center of Hall. Program: We have organised a number of activities during the FlyIn
- excursion by bus to the technical museum in Sinsheim with a guided tour in English Link
- excursion to the nearby historic town of Rothenburg o.d.T. Link
- evening BBQ at the airfield in the house of the local flying club
- individual exploration/sight-seeing of Hall and its museums
- evening group dinner at a restaurant in Hall
Additional information: The FlyIn is open to all Socata pilots or owners and those with a strong link to Socata planes (most attendees bring their wifes or partners, some their family to the FlyIns), membership in the typeclub is not required. At present, we have 18 planes with 40 attendees registered to come.
