Makers of satnav software face this all the time, because the European CAAs publish airspace etc data in a non machine readable form. A lot of scraping going on there…
Scraping works fine as a one-off, to compile some local database of something.

Are you sure? I was under the distinct impression that this data is available in machine-readable form in EAD PRO. Given their business model which assumes minimal manual intervention, I can’t imagine that SkyDemon would “scrape” the data they use. Jeppesen has more resources for manual processing, but I don’t believe that they regularly “scrape” the European AIPs either.
