I do have some intermittent problems with my autopilot. Today my pilot partner came back from Corsica and on the backtrack the KAS 297B only showed -——
He could still use the AP, alt, hdg and nav all worked and he used to up/down rocker switch to climb or descend. Pulling the CBs did non fix it. What could be the cause for this thing to just give up its ghost?
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Have the altitude encoder + wiring checked. With invalid encoder it wil show dashes.
