Indeed; it makes no sense at all to do this.
Even with a simple trust company, the one I use (SAC) will get you to cancel the trust and start a new one. One can see that apart from this raising a fresh £450 
it is necessary because each trust is individual for the aircraft and the beneficial owner (trustor, in US-speak). The FAA have had this as a requirement for ~10 years.
