Are you EDFM qualified? They have this ridiculous site qualification now that requires a landing with a flight instructor.
Just cancel IFR right before landing. No problem.

Yes. Mannheim has essentially been closed to visiting IFR traffic. About a year ago.

If the weather is VMC, you can land by cancelling IFR before landing. If you fly a traffic pattern with a CFI, you become EDFM qualified. The first landing is then free of charge.

Siegerland airport has a decent restaurant on site. IFR approaches (rwy31) are PPR, mind.
That looks like a good option. I would prefer not to use the approaches but one might have to.
Weather should be OK tomorrow. But still better to advise ahead that you want to an IAP. If you don’t and ask for it “on the fly”, they are not so happy. The reason is that they then have to suspend VFR operations at Breitscheid airfield, which is on final for 31.
Possibly, I might come as well. Who else would be coming? We have a LOT of peole within 60 minutes of flying time from EDGS here!
