BTW I would not make a cover like shown above, which goes under the belly. The belly gets covered in all kinds of crap, oil, etc, and you will get that on the cover, and it then ends up on the windows etc because in any sort of wind it is difficult to get the cover on or off cleanly.
Something which does just the windows, and just has straps underneath, is much better.

The cover definitely does not go under, for exactly that reason.
Dejwu, the OP is talking specifically about a light travel cover. I.e. for a week or two away.
One would surmise that they have a hangar at base or a very high quality permanent outdoor cover for regular use, like I do.
My cover is huge when removed and definitely not suitable for touring.
Mine took circa 10hrs work, including paterning and trips to the A/c.
