Guess what the cause is? Took me a while to work it out.
When using my sky echo in certain aircraft, I get this effect.
If we speak of the same thing, I noticed this with A20 in proximity of (ground) radar antenna.
Your strobes?
It is overheating of the battery module 
Hang yours next to a hot air vent and give it a few mins
