N-reg, FAA licenses April 8th 2016/2017 deadline.

I’ve seen a number of indications on this forum that the April 8th 2016 end to the ability of an ‘operator’ based in Europe to use an FAA license to fly an N reg aeroplane has been extended to 2017.

Can anyone guide me to a reference that definitively documents that, please?

Note that you will always need a license/rating issued by the State of Registry i.e. FAA pilot papers for an N-reg. This EASA move will – on the obvious interpretation – require EASA papers (and medical) in addition to the FAA ones.

For certificates issued through the provisions of FAR 61.75, the FAA medical is not required.
