Google adwords agent recommendation (UK)

Can anyone recommend a UK company that does google adwords/PPC? I’ve been using our current people a long time, but they lost their expert a couple of years ago and I don’t know if we’re getting value for money any more. He spent a lot of time understanding the product and target market, but it might be years out of date. I regularly get cold calls (why are you ringing me if you’re so good with google ) but the market is full of cowboys. I’ve already tried my IT guy and web designer, but they both said “let me know if you find anyone good”. PM if necessary.

I’m in no way an expert but from own experience I have seen better results from Facebook Ads rather than Google Adwords.

ESME, ESMS

I don’t know any specialists. As you say evebody who knows how to send emails is an expert at this

Google are quite good at supporting this. They do take a vast amount of $$$ from you, after all. You can arrange a call with their support person (usually at some call centre in the Phillipines but actually quite ok) and they will take you through it.

At work we manage these in-house. I “promoted” my office manageress to keep an eye on these on an almost daily basis. Only you know your products; some stranger won’t have a clue.

It is as important that you set up as many negative adwords as possible, to avoid wasting money.

FB works well for some people. I know a chap who does well out of the “friends networking” aspect of FB but then his customers are in a very narrow activity and mostly know each other, and of course use FB. If you sell widely then FB is much less good, for professional products / older customers likewise, and for international stuff it will be useless because of the cultural differences (but then google is not much good either because it strongly selects for products from the same “cultural area”).

Nothing “online” works well for launching new products and that is the biggest challenge in marketing today.

What sort of budget do you have?

EGBJ and Firs Farm, United Kingdom

Budget is capped at £1k per month; I just discovered one of my competitors spends 4 times this, but it doesn’t mean much.

It’s definitely business to business, and we spent time narrowing this, e.g. only being active in working hours.

I’d rather not, but I think I might bring this back in-house, and try to understand it myself before passing it to one of the young people to look after.

Thanks for the help
