Anyway, does anyone have more information about or even experience with Francazal?
It’s a strange airport. Not military (except the north side). Not Airbus or other company owned airport. But still, it is strictly PPR. Why? The AIP says that operations are allowed only during AFIS times. But AFIS is PPR all the time. I see the airport is now EDEIS. The website is also mostly empty, except for contact information. Is it only used by some occasional bizjet? But why, if LFBO is OK for these flights?

It’s Class Delta CTR with an AFIS not ATC in TWR, I think it’s PPR as airspace and service don’t match very well? it does not revert to Golf when AFIS is not around, not sure how one would depart? although calling Toulouse departures by phone for VFR & IFR clearance seems OK (it works in LFCL nearby, it has ATC but no CTR and it does allow one can to operate VFR & IFR straight into Toulouse CTR without ATC in the tower nor PPR requirement)
For Bizjets maybe they can’t use Golf parking in Toulouse? or need to drop people in main terminal? (there are no customs in the old tower in LFBO)
Not recent but we visited Francazal LFBF, VFR on Aug19, you get a funky PPR number from AFIS by email but no one ever asked for it, I think the landing fee was 20€ for 4h parking? one military Casa C295 was doing TnG and few Bizjets on tarmac, nothing to see really: ghost town terminal, I don’t even recall why & how I landed there? other than Francazal had Avgas (AirBP?) while Toulouse did not have Avgas…

This might be a slight sidetrack, but what is the difference between “PPR” and “strictly PPR”?
“Strictly PPR” is used by airports who hate customers

Current plan is to Muret-Lherm (LFBR)
Most unfortunately the LFBR airport is currently (and for the foreseeable future) notamed with “LFFA-D2155/22 – AERODROME RESERVED TO HOME BASED ACFT.”
For the Toulouse area depending on your needs maybe LFCL Toulouse Lasbordes could work out?

Indeed, that looks like a good solution – thanks!
Just curious – any idea why the restriction on non-based aircraft?

It’s a bit too complicated for a public forum ..

You re triggering again more curiosity here
No worries- lasbordes worked fine. Don’t forget your Total 100LL card if you want fuel!
