Fly-in at ENVA (Trondheim-Værnes) this summer (2025)

Hi everyone,

There seems to be some interests by a few members to fly heading North/North-East this summer to ENVA (eg Trondheim Værnes) so I’m volunteering to organize a fly-in :-)
Let’s start with finding a date and then work the rest from there. And since it will be summer you won’t have issue with darkness up here, but the weather may still play some tricks!
In terms of practical info, ENVA has a long and large runway (2900m total length and wide enough to accommodate 747 or C5 galaxy so should be plenty for all GA aircraft, otherwise you may want to reconsider your definition of GA aircraft), has instrument approach and and all lights you want everywhere (but again, in summer we also have natural light all the time), a fairly big parking for GA (not sure exactly how many aircraft they can accommodate, but I don’t thinks it will be a problem), Custom and Immigration (just need to transfer the flight plan to custom), and is open 24/7.
Landing and parking fees are combined and can either be paid per landing or by buying a weekly card (I don’t remember the cost of either right now, but I’ll post some links on this later on).

Great! I’m in. (If we can find a suitable date.)

Told you already that we’re making such plans. Will negotiate with my owner (she/her) about potential dates

Germany

Count me in unless the chosen date clashes with another of my planned events…
The risk is growing by the day as I fill out my agenda on a monthly basis, and the season is already pretty much booked. I’d then have to emulate Solomon…

Excellente idée L-A,

I have been thinking seriously about visiting Norway with the Colibri for quite some time (proof: I ordered a BP card specifically for that a couple of years ago!). This is the trigger.
Depending on the dates (it needs to be outside of University teaching terms for me), I will enthusiastically join and may even bring along another 39-hp powered pilot in a RF3.

Perhaps we could do a date poll?

Looking forward to it,
Brice

I would be very interested, I’ve been over to Norway twice visiting Bergen, Kejeller, Trondheim, Mosjøen, Tromsø, Alta, Mehamn, Lakselv.

First time was from Lerwick to Bergen and the second trip departed from Kirkwall to Bergen by far my longest trip over the sea in an SEP.

Very keen to return, I’m based at Cardiff.

I would go. The TB20 can do EGKA-ENVA nonstop, using the curved route which is largely over land. I had a customer there but he’s now retired

The big problem I found with Norway is dreadful wx, icing conditions well over 90% of the time, and the rest of the time it is beautiful @LeSving can tell us more, if he’s still about.

Why would you want to???

Stop at Helgoland enroute and enjoy some currywurst. And Gothenburg, or Roskilde and overnight in Copenhagen? More fun than spending all day in an SEP getting friendly with an empty Tropicana bottle.

If the dates work, I would definitely consider it.
