Euroga brain trust this is a 30 page thread so hoping for some help – just checking for an upcoming flight from Ursel to Oxford UK, and planning to use Ostend as the EU customs airport for leaving the EU. UK citizen sole passenger.
Am I correct I just need to PPR Ostend airport which has customs, or is there more involved?
[ @RobertL18C new thread created – I don’t think many pilots have the will to test out that EU concession in the original thread ]
No, for the Schengen side, you must complete the form under
EBOS is in Belgium so you need the Belgium GAR form.
It’s a poor website with some misleading wording (unless fixed recently). But if you are going only outbound it should be fine.
For the UK you file the UK GAR for each direction i.e. two separate GARs.
Am bringing an aircraft from Belgium to the UK, thank you for the input team.
There is the police form (as already mentioned here) and there is the customs form here. These appear to be different, but at least at EBAW I have not had a problem doing the police form, and then emailing the generated pdf to the customs airport office (in you case [email protected]).
File a flight plan for EBUL-EBOS.

No airport PPR is required at Ostend; just turn up during the notified opening hours at the GA handlers (North Sea Aviation Center) (having submitted your Belgian customs/immigration forms by email).
Just to report that I managed to make the short ferry flight ahead of yesterday’s winter snow in the UK. No real data on costs as the buyer looked after handling and airport fees. Ursel very charming, nestled in a forest with a club house. It is only open Friday PM and the weekend for GA. During the week it is a reserve base and is used quite actively for training.
Oostende very helpful ATC, and handling was with North Sea Aviation who have a good facility, and helpful team. Police/customs were friendly and are based at NSA. It looks a good gateway for Bruges and Ghent. Only datapoint was 84 litres AvGas cost 200 €, with prompt service. There seems to be ample GA apron parking.
Thank you for the helpful tips.
