On the weekend around 24th of August, Rotax again hosted the Austrian edition of their Fly-in for 2024 at Wels Airfield (LOLW).
Being just a short hop away from LOLW this presented a perfect opportunity to present FlySto and its Bristell B23 powered by a Rotax 915.
Weather was perfect and we set out for an easy direct south to north alpine crossing at 8000ft in our little “FlySto LogHunter”.
The event was organized very well. Landing at LOLW was easy in spite of some increased traffic around the field. Thanks to Flarm on iPad we were able to avoid a very fast moving Shark UL (160kts GS) crossing our path
Rotax arranged for plenty of food, drink and seating opportunities in the shade. Dozens over dozens of airplanes were parked alongside the event area.
Rotax’s own B23 did promotion/experience flights all day long.
It was a nice day, a great event and being able to use a 2 seater as a “corporate aircraft” made it even better.
LOLW is a great airfield with friendly staff and all types of fuel available.
Some pictures following…

Passing over Hochtor. Thanks to the Turbo, the B23 goes fast in the forward and upward direction at the same time, making mountain crossings less of an issue.

The program
After a nice day with many nice encounters and interesting conversations we refueled and flew home again. Instead of a direct line we opted for some sightseeing staying lower.

Maybe see you next year at the Rotax Fly-in 2025 👍
Thanks for posting Snoopy, maybe a nice destination for me next year. Hope you got some good leads for FlySto!
Do you work for flysto Snoopy ? It thought it was a Dutch business.
Thank you for sharing the photos, Snoopy. Likes like a perfect day.

Yes. It’s possible to work remotely. Team is very international 👍👏

The B23 is perfectly suited not only for public airfields like LOLW but also some (grass) gems on the way there, eg in Slovenia. LJBL, LJPO, LJCL…. it is a lot of fun in the B23.
Pity I didn’t know you were there…
Too bad, I actually curiously inspected your rudder gust lock closely (without suspecting it to be your plane) 😀
