On Saturday the 22. June the “longest day fly” in on the beautiful German islands and on the coast will allow flying until late in the evening. The airfields have extended their opening hours, so a meet-up there will be possible even without an overnight stay.
Here the link to the flyer with participating airfields and opening hours.
Is anybody interested to meet there if weather promises an enjoyable day or weekend?
Good idea, count me in
Sounds awesome, but unfortunately for me I have a business engagement that day so can’t attend. Hopefully in 2025!
Alas, it seems that all the island airports participating are GE only.

Yes, on paper, all these island airfields are GE only. But fortunately, in practice, many of these airfields will still accept aircraft that call up in English.
Suggest to give a call to the ops phone number of the airfield you are interested in, and ask if on date xy, you will be able to call in English.
Never had a problem at EDWF Leer – both English and Dutch work :)
Do none of them have C+I per AIP?
Is there any evidence of enforcement? Loads of non GE speakers have been to some.
Personally I would never risk a fine in Germany.
As Peter_Mundy says, language has never been a problem on the islands.
Lovely places BTW
Just looked up Juist – perhaps the most common one. Since Germany does not publish the VFR AIP, how is anybody supposed to find out? Normally, if you are to avoid criminal behaviour you need access to the law.
Buy the SD Flight Guide titled DFS German VFR AIP, as for any country offering/selling such a guide…
