A trip from Estonia to Croatia with my sons

What a great inspiration, when that noble Cherokee 140 emerged from Lock Haven am sure no one would have believed it would be creating memories in Central Europe in the 21st Century.

Great trip! One question: why did you make stop at Split if Brac was your final destination? Brac has immigration and avgas at same price as Split and it’s just 10 minutes down the road

2 reasons- one is that Split is a nice city by itself. Another was pure practicality- we arrived in the region about 5pm, and Brac is open only until 2UTC .
The planning was quite loose, it was supposed to be a week or 10 day trip. we had 2 other Estonian planes travelling along the same route- RV10 was running circles around us and managed to make low approach in Dubrovnic and visit Zadar, and Viper SD-4 that was lagging behind most of the time due to short range. At the end we were getting nervous about the thunderstorms in Poland and decided to return, today it looks like the next return window is tue-wed.. We managed to avoid all polish thunderstorms but caught one in Latvian/Estonian border..

Am I correct that generally speaking, GA can operate at Brac H24, subject to PPR (NOTAM)?

Yes and no :) I have an original letter from Brac acknowledging our PPR and the footer- which seem to be claiming different things:

e-mail: "Please note that parking is accepted maximum 13 – 15 JUL 2021. For eventual parking extension, PPR is mandatory, as it stays in NOTAM B0539/21 (copied down here under our signature).

Please note that our ops hrs end at 1600 LT and landing after that will not be possible.

Best regards,

Anna Hero"

That looks rather confusing and unclear.

If they really put a stop to all flight operations at 16:00h, in the middle of summer, that sould be ridiculous.

Unfortunately yes, except Friday, Saturday and Sunday when they close at 20:00h local time. From September 5th only on Saturday it will remain open until 20:00h and from October 10th they are closing every day at 16:00.

IIRC PPR for extended hours is pretty expensive.
