Barcelona Area - Sabadell (El Prat LEBL, or Sabadell LELL) or Girona LEGE

couldn’t get a response from Iberia

They may reply if you send in Spanish?

Or maybe English in CAPITALS WITH ACRONYMS LIKE: REQUEST HANDLING FRM UK DOF XXXX 2POB

@pilotrobbie

@speed couldn’t get a response from Iberia. Do they still handle at Girona?

Yes they do:
IBERIA HANDLING
TEL: +34-972 474 192
FAX: +34-972 474 959
Móvil: +34-629 239 129
E-mail: [email protected]
SITA: GROKQIB

E-mail them with flight details and asking for an ACK. If not, just put in FPL 18 HANDLING IBERIA. Maybe you will have to wait a little bit on your arrival but they will be at the airport.

My friend, who’s wife speaks Spanish phoned them for me and they emailed back straight away.

Ramp handling: 24,41€  x 2 ( includes contact   immigration/ customs (coming from and departing to UK),  + escort to Terminal) , depending on your MTOW

Transport 7,74 × 2  ( in and out)

Document to get into security area: 20 € x2

We need in advance GENDEC ( in and out ), to inform immigration, and please info about your fuel supplier

Can anyone confirm how to create a Gendec for this flight? Is there a website?

So much for getting „ramp transport only“ for 10€…

Can anyone confirm how to create a Gendec for this flight? Is there a website?

Dont overthink it. Use this only courtesy of Aeroplis for example send it to them:

@boscomantico

I had a native speaker of my passenger ring them, and they still didn’t accept the basic package of handling. I’m not sure how much you can get them to accept 10EUR fee? Is it written in law?

The AENA fees I was quoted by another handler don’t seem to expensive. But when I do a big write up for this trip, I’ll have a crack at sharing.

Thanks for that, I will look to fill out later and send them.

Question on fueling in Spain. Is there any naughty gotchas?

AirBP card accepted I hear? Or cheaper on Debit/Credit card?

At Spanish airline airports, you can sometimes be waiting hours for being refuelled. Despite you paying a handling agent!

Have a VAT number at hand.

Payment method doesn’t usually make a difference, but not entirely sure, especially for Jet-A.

The fuel is never cheap in Spain, regardless of payment method.

I’ve had that too (3hrs at Salamanca) but the clear impression I got was that this is due to not speaking Spanish. Some of it was quite farcical, with people walking past, smiling, and walking on when they hear “avgas” from a foreigner. And you can get the same in France – 2-3hrs at Bastia, solved only by walking towards a twin TP passenger plane, which caused “security” to go berserk, and suddenly I got lots of attention

Burgos, with the buckets, was the best, however

I have AIR BP but find it less and less useful, as airports take visa/mastercard almost universally. I think last time somebody preferred AIR BP was at EDNY a few weeks ago. Re price difference, I have no idea, and you won’t be able to find out because the fueller will usually have no idea of the price. Especially not for AIR BP. I will keep the card, like an extra tool in a toolbox, and probably it will never be declined, unlike a CC.

The further south you go in Europe, the more funny stuff happens, and the more you need to check things out before flying. It used to be said that contacting Spanish airports was a waste of time (the airport office never replied; only handlers did but GA tries to avoid handling) but now I think it has changed.

For a handling-avoidance discussion check the Menorca 2017 thread.

I regretted asking my partner to pay for 250L fuel in Spain as my credit card was blocked due to payment limit, she complained for a whole week that flying is expensive, I should have filled with an extra stop in Perpignan !
