Its a direct apples-to-apples comparison of the planes, not the engines, and that’s what makes it interesting especially when considering that the RV wasn’t designed to putt along at 100 kts and can do much more.
The RV engine is BTW surely a Lycoming, not a Continental.
Affirm, it is a Lycosaurus, but sports dual LSE ignition. Almost 100 year old tech helped by what most certified ships still don’t have

First flight after a shorter than usual winter hibernation. Just couldn’t resist in the nice weather Insane winds. I wonder how it’s physically possible. ZERO wind at ground level everywhere, completely calm, but managed to bang my head pretty hard on final to ENVA due to turbulence. It removed a lot of rust I guess

A totally new type for me today, a Fuji FA200-180 Aero Subaru (180hp IO-360 and CS prop). Not very fast, but feels solid and hand-flies beautifully.
